Steps

How it works

  • Choose one supported video file up to 150 MB.
  • Preview the video and review its duration.
  • Extract and encode its audio track as MP3 in your browser.
  • Preview the MP3 result and download the audio file.

Highlights

Key features

  • Accepts multiple browser-recognized video container types rather than only MP4.
  • Removes the video stream and encodes audio with libmp3lame at 192 kbps.
  • Creates a real audio/mpeg file named from the source video.
  • Shows source preview, duration, FFmpeg progress, MP3 preview, and output size.
  • Uses a browser-first workflow without an external conversion API.

Use cases

Common uses

  • Save spoken audio from a personal video recording.
  • Create an MP3 copy of a video soundtrack you are allowed to use.
  • Extract narration for listening or editing.
  • Convert a supported non-MP4 video audio track to MP3.

Notes

Limitations to know

  • Only one video is processed at a time; batch and bulk conversion are not available.
  • The tool exports the selected default audio stream only and has no language-track selector.
  • MP3 is lossy, fixed at 192 kbps, and has no bitrate, sample-rate, channel, or time-range controls.
  • A video without a decodable audio track cannot produce a useful MP3.
  • The tool does not download online videos or isolate music, voice, or vocals.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

5 answers
Which videos can I convert to MP3?

The tool accepts MP4, WebM, MOV, and other files recognized as video, but the bundled FFmpeg engine must support the codecs inside them.

What MP3 quality is used?

Audio is encoded as MP3 at a fixed 192 kbps. There is no user-selectable bitrate in the current tool.

Can the MP3 sound better than the source?

No. Conversion cannot restore audio detail missing from the original video, and MP3 re-encoding can change quality.

Can I select only part of the video?

No. This tool extracts the available audio from the full video timeline.

Can I convert several videos at once?

No. Video to MP3 currently handles one file per run, up to 150 MB.
