Tool guide

Free PDF to PNG Converter

Render selected PDF pages as PNG images from one file or a browser-based PDF batch. Choose the pages and render scale, then download the losslessly compressed PNG outputs individually or as ZIP files.

Steps

How it works

  • Upload one or more PDF files, up to the enforced 500-file selection limit.
  • Choose all pages, one page range, or individual pages.
  • Select a 1x, 1.5x, or 2x render scale.
  • Convert each selected page into a PNG image.
  • Download the outputs individually or use available full or smaller ZIP downloads.

Highlights

Key features

  • Creates a separate PNG for each selected PDF page.
  • Supports multi-file PDF batches.
  • Provides page-selection controls.
  • Offers three render scales for output detail and size.
  • Uses PNG's lossless image compression for the rendered pixels.
  • Supports individual and browser-generated ZIP downloads.

Use cases

Common uses

  • Create PNG page previews from a PDF.
  • Render diagrams or text-heavy PDF pages as images.
  • Convert selected pages rather than an entire document.
  • Process pages from multiple PDFs in one browser batch.

Notes

Limitations to know

  • PNG compression is lossless, but the PDF page is still rasterized at the selected scale.
  • Selectable text and vector graphics become pixels in the PNG output.
  • The tool does not extract original PNG assets embedded within the PDF.
  • Transparency depends on how the PDF page and browser renderer compose its background; it is not guaranteed for every document.
  • Large or high-resolution batches can consume substantial memory, and locked or malformed PDFs may fail.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

6 answers
Is the PNG output lossless?

PNG stores the rendered pixel image with lossless compression, but converting a vector PDF page into pixels is still a rasterization step.

Does the converted page remain vector?

No. Text, lines, and vector artwork are rendered into pixels at the selected scale.

Can I adjust the output resolution?

You can choose 1x, 1.5x, or 2x render scale. There is no custom DPI or dimension control.

Is PDF page transparency preserved?

It can vary with the PDF page and renderer. Do not rely on transparent output without checking the generated PNG.

Can I convert selected pages?

Yes. The options support all pages, one range, or specified individual pages.

Does it extract original PNG files from a PDF?

No. It creates new PNG files by rendering complete pages.
